Who Needs Good Grades?!?

I like school, even if I don't like this instructor. This is necessary for me to attain my degree. I -will- make it through this. << My mantra for the day.

Week 2 of this dang theatre class and I've already had it with this instructor. I've been emailing her since Monday (the first day our new assignments were available) and still have not gotten an answer about how to complete our homework! There are no instructions, only dropboxes for the assignments. No organization to the course whatsoever. I'm sorry. I may be pretty darn intelligent, but I still can't read minds. I'm working on it, though. Just for her.

However! She -has- cleverly named each assignment like it's a scene from a play (Act I, Scene I; Act I, Scene II...you get the picture). SO glad we got that on there. I never would have known what to do with such mundane titles as "Week 1"!

I'm trying to take a deep breath and put on my patient pants. Pray for me!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

My grandpa turned 85 this year. You'd never know the man is approaching 90--still lives on his own, has virtually zero health problems (unless you count refusing to turn on his hearing aid!), and just recently stopped driving at night. This man is one of the best role models in my life. We wanted to celebrate this milestone in his life, and so got together as a family for the first time in over a year. It was really good to see some family I literally hadn't seen in years.
I was thrilled to finally meet little Ellie after almost a year! Can you tell who Daddy wants her to root for?!?

Grandpa with the great-grandkids. Ellie was such a good sport, and Jackson wanted nothing to do with the whole business.

Big brother Carson holding Jackson. These are my cousin's kids, and the last time I saw Carson he was not much bigger than Jackson. Now he's almost as tall as me! Such a sweet kid.

Needless to say, it was really great to spend some time with extended family I don't often see. Grandpa showed us pictures and school records from when he was very young, along with the family Bible, which was really interesting.

This is My Life

I seriously never thought I would love a job as much as I do mine! It barely even feels like I'm going to work. This is a little late, but "my" children had a Christmas program back at the beginning of December, and I just have to share a few pictures from that!
Sixty 5-year-olds on stage at one time made for a hilarious night, let me tell you! One of the boys on the front row noticed that his neighbor's shoe was untied, so he immediately got down to tie it.

Two of "my" kindergartners. Ornery as all get out, but some of my favorites nonetheless!

The first-graders wanted in on the photo action too!

I just love, love, love them! Most of the time.
